NYU Tisch

This past April, Sophie auditioned and was accepted into the prestigious Classical Studio at NYU, a year long studio program that is very selective in the thirteen people that end up joining their company. Previous Alumni of this program include Brandon Uranowitz (An American in Paris), Nik Walker (Ain’t Too Proud/Hamilton) Jack Falahee (How to Get Away With Murder) and Rachel Chavkin (Tony Award Winning Director of Hadestown).

Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute

NYU Tisch

This spring, Sophie was accepted and attended classes as part of the NYU Lee Strasberg Transfer Track Program where she began her training in the art of Method Acting. She was also fortunate enough to be cast in and make her Strasberg Institute debut in Mistero Buffo, directed by associated Broadway Director Johanna McKeon.

Ganzala in The Tempest

2021

Shakespeare in the Square, NYU Tisch

Sophie returned to Shakespeare in the Square the second time this academic year as the role of Ganzala in The Tempest, directed by fellow Playwrights Horizons student Neha Hemachandra. This particular production was set in outer space as Prospero seeks revenge on his enemies in the spaceship the Island where his AI servant Ariel helps him in his schemes. 

Corinne in The Best Babysitter

Regional Theatre

Sophie played the lead role in a new play written and directed by fellow Tisch alumnis Jessica Fisher and CJ DiOrio respectively for the newly made theatre company Imaginarium. Opening November 22nd at 3pm on Zoom!

Sophie portrayed the Duke of Albany in the Royal Social Distancing Company's Fall Production of King Lear this Friday at 7pm EST!

Princess Hamlet

Shakespeare in the Square, NYU Tisch

Sophie just concluded her directorial debut with her project of William Shakespeare's Hamlet as a gender bent virtual, dubbed Princess Hamlet, a modern production with the male characters are portrayed as women and vice versa. This production was co-directed with fellow NYU student Christian Corpening and was produced by NYU's Shakespeare in the Square.

Sophie returned to Stonestreet Studios for the beginning of her third year at NYU Tisch and was cast in two Micromovies, Dear Arnold, directed by Alana Atkins Barretts, and Keyed, directed by Kate Baggott. Soon to be available on Instagram, Facebook and Vimeo! 

Our Place in the Daylight

Sophie played Past Ashton in the play Our Place in the Daylight, another piece of work written by Marissa Riggs and directed by Tsui C Wang in the first ever NYU Playwrights Horizons Zoom Theatre Festival!

Sophie played Kit, one of the leads in Back When We Felt Clean written by Marissa Riggs and directed by Syona Varty for the first ever NYU Playwrights Horizons Zoom Theatre Festival!

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company

2020

Regional Theate

Sophie was accepted into the very first Commonwealth Shakespeare Company Virtual Apprenticeship in Boston, Massachusetts to be trained in Shakespearean verse and text with the heads of the company! She will return next year as a Master Apprentice and currently has been elected to serve as the President of the Alumni Committee!

Sophie just wrote and starred in her first MicroMovie at NYU Stonestreet Studios, The Spare Bridesmaid, directed by Stonestreet Studios founder and executive director Gary O. Bennett. Now available to watch on Stonestreet's social media handles! Now the video has 1000 views on Facebook!
